Mumbai, Apr 27: The Delhi-Faridabad Elevated Expressway Project (dfskyway), designed, engineered, constructed by HCC Ltd. and operated by HCC Concessions, has received the prestigious CNBC TV18 Infrastructure Excellence Award 2011, in the main category of 'Highways and Flyovers'.

Out of five nominees, dfskyway was conferred the Award on basis of excellence in execution of the project, overall impact and sustainable value creation, said a release today.

The Delhi Faridabad Skyway (dfskyway) is a 4.4 km. elevated highway connecting Delhi and Haryana at Badarpur. This engineering marvel has been developed by HCC Concessions formerly known as (HCC Infrastructure Limited) with an investment of nearly Rs.600 cr, under the Public Private Partnership.

HCC Concessions’ parent company, Hindustan Construction Company Limited (HCC) was awarded a 20-year concession in 2008 to develop, construct and operate this asset by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI).

The development showcases innovative engineering, environment-friendly construction and top-class toll operations. The flyover connects Delhi and its satellite township of Faridabad and provides uninterrupted travel past the four major crossings of MB Road, Jethpur, Sarai Bypass and Sector 37. The crossing is an important gateway to the capital city located on NH-2, which forms an important link between Delhi and Agra , and even leads up to Madhya Pradesh. HCC began construction in January 2009 and the project was completed in November 2010, significantly ahead of schedule.
