Activities Discussion Thread

Postby s1joshi » Thu Feb 10, 2011 1:14 am

Hello Everyone

As we all are gearing up for the protest march on 1st March, lets start preparing ourselves by doing some mental exercises and think aloud a few activities that could be engaging and though provoking for every one involved,
We would be submitting our letters to various authorities informing them about protest in next 2-3 days time, and we would try our level best to ensure all required approvals are in place. For majority of us this is going to be first experience for participating in a social cause, and lets try make best use of our time, In order to make it successful, We need support from each one of you,

First of all, We need atleast two people from each society to join us in the meetings/discussions and be part of organizing team. Please send your nominations.

Even if you have limited time, there are several ways you can help us. Remember each one of you count, Whichever is your area of interest, whichever is the part of world you are in, there is something each one of us can do.... Furthermore as an icing on cake, we also plan to have some exciting prizes for various categories, Here are some of the ways you can help us

1. Slogans
You may consider involving your spouse, kids, friends and family and come up with some catchy slogans.

2. Provide a small paragraph (say 100 words) or a drawing suggesting how does this impact you

3. Innovative Cartoons highlighting bureaucracy and corruption,

4. Lights, Camera Action
We are trying to engage media and have been in touch with press and few news channels, However no commitments yet and hence we would also like to be self sufficient and have a few pictures and video grabs for upload in forums and web sites. If you would like to leverage your hobby, Do let us know

4. Community Outreach
Whichever part of the world you are in, You can help us by spread the details, by posting links in various real estate forums, blogs, and any relevant links. We can share with you drafts, links etc ..

5. Personal contacts : We have very limited time and in order to be successful we need to reach out to as many as possible at personal level, and we need volunteers who can help reach out to individuals at personal level and help them make aware of the cause we are fighting for and request to participate

6. Music
There are several audio video's related to corruption, these could be old classic like "Yeh public hai sab janti hai ....." advertisements of "Jago Re", or any other stimulating audio's, video's which can be played during the day, We would like to compile some CD's/DVD's and use them as fillers

7. Action
There is a scope of few small small activities during the day, It can be a small act, some street plays, or any similar thing.
Decades back, Many of you would have participated in college festivals, and it must have been fun, now you may want to revive the old memories, bring out your hobbies and use them for your own social cause. Please volunteer for participation and suggest some ideas

8. Logistical Support
We need people to help us ensure that logistics are in place,

and many many many more ways .................................

Postby ssinha18 » Fri Feb 11, 2011 2:28 pm

Dear Members.
I am seeing a lot of enthusiasm from every corner which is vibrating the forum of myfaridabad.com through emails. Every member of myfaridabad.com is highly interest in grand success of the “Demonstration” scheduled on 1st of March 2011. “Demonstrators” should shakeup the government and developers and force them to look into the problems of development of Naharpaar.

However, it is Sad to observe that the collection has hardly touched Rs.5000 till date.

Except for few people who are working hard, rest of the members are just giving lip service and few lines on the email that they are also supporting for the cause. Perhaps everyone is feeling that if few people are seriously working hard it will certainly yield some good results and rest of them will be automatically benefitted, so why to waste money by contributing even Rs.500/-.

A mail with “congratulations”, or “KUDOS”, or “Count me in”, or “I also support” is not going to solve the purpose. The core members need your active support. In case it is not done well in time, if everyone starts thinking on the similar lines who will go for the demonstration ??
The core team is expecting a lot of people with families to join on 1st March 2011. For that transport has to be arranged, it will be hot so one has to arrange for drinking water, a lot of expenditure will go in banner printing, placard large printouts, distribution of CDs etc. There are many other expenses which you also know to make it successful.

It is a very sad to observe that members who are too eager to put their heart and soul to the forum through mails do not have either to time to come for the demonstration or hear to contribute Rs.500 voluntarily. I request those who cannot actively participate because of “geographical barrier” or “urgent indispensable assignments” or “stuck up abroad earning salary in foreign exchange” to contribute Rs.2500- 5000 or higher.

It will be very painful to hear at the end that Jayanta, Dheeraj, Seema, Vineet and other core members had to spend much more from their own pocket in anticipation and the contribution expected is not there.

I request all of you to wake up and participate actively right now . We are fortunate that we have intelligent, dedicated members within our core group. Once they are disheartened the possession of the flats to any one of us in Naharpar will not happen before 2020.

Please use the following details to make payment,
====================================

====================================

You can also write a cheque on the name of Jayanta Kumar Barua.

Important:
1. If making a NEFT transfer, please mention in remarks <GFWA-your Myfaridabad User ID>
2. After making payment, please email admin@myfaridabad.in with the following details to ensure that all payments are accounted.
Subject – Payment for GFWA
Name –
Amount –
Transaction Reference# -
Date of Payment –

For any clarifications, feel free to revert. Please note that this is a voluntary contribution.

Five points about Egypt’s revolution & Lesson learned
1. It was initiated by online call from Cyberactivist Wael Ghonim, a young executive at internet giant Google.
2. The 30-year-old, who launched the January 25 online call to arms against the Egyptian regime, used power of internet and Facebook/Twitter to connect with pro-democracy people that brought historic change in Egypt on 12th February by stepping down of Mubarak.
3. “Yes, we can too”, just 4 word multiplied the strength of people and changed the regime.
4. The protest for democracy was spontaneous movement by victims of autocratic regime.
5. No leader or man was leading or provoking this mass protest in Cairo and people themselves fought for their rights and demand.

Egypt Revolution proves power of Protests and Demonstrations

Postby dheerajjain » Sat Feb 12, 2011 8:54 am

Egypt Revolution proves power of Protests and Demonstrations. All powerful dictator of Egypt for last 30 years was forced to step down after protests from millions of people. I agree with all points raised by Manish. That Internet can bring revolutions in today's world is proved.

So, all join us for protests. We are looking for 300 people
