RTI Reply for EDC Charges

Postby webmaster » Wed Jul 14, 2010 9:32 am

Sent by member Dheeraj Jain. List is not complete , Does not include RPS, Piyush etc. BPTP has made a major contribution.

RTI reply received from DTCP, Chandigarh states that builders have already
deposited Rs 340 crores as EDC to Haryana Govt. which is a very huge amount.

This also contradicts the fact raised by someone that builders have only
paid 10%.

So, builders have already done their work in depositing EDC. Now, it is the
responsibility of Govt. to provide us with amenities.

It does not mean that. It only shows how our Govt. departments work with no use of computer. They are not able to even consolidate the information correctly. They have missed many builders like Piyush, RPS, Omaxe etc. Countrywide promoters is BPTP subsidiary

S.N Realtor is Omaxe... i know that......i think would need to work out under what name Piyush and RPS has got license to do development work there. Most of the companies don't apply to get licenses on the name of legal entity they do branding for.

Hi Dheeraj,

thanks for this , i was just going through this and just wanted to understand this .I guess RPS must have paid the EDC to the gov . Just wanted to understand how it is calculated for the individual flats. Can someone help me on this. How it is calculated for a project.
1) RPS must have paid as per their total area which they have for the project and it is distributed amongst all the owners.
2) It depends on number of flats/units they are making where total EDC is divided by number of units.
3) OR each unit will have its own EDC.

So in case of 1 and 2 if it is divided somehow and their is a school which is coming up in the campus (which was not their in the plan earlier) must also have paid the EDC.So if we consider this fact will that make less EDC on us?
Do let me know if someone can answer this.

Joshi JI, sorry for late reply. I was just browsing this section and saw your comment. EDC charges are on total area. Builder then by himself divides that amount.

No requirement of school to pay EDC as it is illegal by builder to sell any common area within Group Housing Society to third party. So, sale transaction should stand null and void if we look it in legal terms.

For more information about the law and to download it, please refer to post here:

Hi Members,

Does any one has any information on EDC payments made by RPS to Govt with dates of payment. I remember of seeing anywhere in forum through RTI's but not able to find it now.

Just want to check on RPS EDC payments schedule and how much penality they are being charged by hayrana govt. If they are being charged because of delay they ideally should not pass that penalty to us who has already paid payments on schedule.

RTI deposits by each builder are in GFWA exclusive section available for GFWA members

With regards to penalty passing, as per calculations from RPS shared by Anuj in another thread, I personally don't think that is the case.
