Are Greater Faridabad Multistory Towers Earthquake Resistant?

Dear Members,

We have had enough discussions regarding the Greater Faridabad’s problem vis-à-vis developers, HUDA etc.
However, I feel one area that is very much neglected is the safety of residents from natural calamities.

So, has anyone sought some information on the technology used by various builders to ensure that multistory towers have enough in them to absorb the earthquake shock?

GFWA, we would again need your support to help us know what can we do to seek such information and from whom?

As far as I know, there are mandatory regulations by Town and Country Planning department of Haryana to ensure that multi storey towers are earthquake resistant. But, in case building collapses, then there are no arrangements. Area that is of big concern is fire fighting. Please read below:

ग्रेटर फरीदाबाद में विकसित होती हाइराइज बिल्डिंग का ही उदाहरण लें तो वहां किसी प्रकार का अग्निकांड होने की स्थिति में अग्निशमन विभाग के पास उस पर काबू पाने के लिए 30 मीटर से ऊंची सीढ़ी नहीं है। इसी तरह भूकंप की स्थिति में यदि भवनों के नीचे लोग दबे हों तो उन्हें मलबे में से निकालने के लिए प्रशासन के पास किसी तरह का कोई तकनीकी विशेषज्ञ नहीं है और न ही उन्हें मलबे में से निकालने के लिए कोई संसाधन मौजूद हैं। ऐसे में यदि कोई आपदा आती है तो उसने निबटने के लिए प्रशासन कितना तैयार है, इसका अंदाजा स्वयं लगाया जा सकता है।
